It is logically more favourable to have the right roadblocks
settled within an ACC recipients personal files before ACC or
CATALYST takes the first steps to revoke an insured person’s
ACC entitlements. If an insured person’s file contains within
it, correct and complete information, it becomes more difficult
for ACC or CATALYST to win a decision against that person at
review and appeal time.
Our experience over the years convinces us that ACC and
CATALYST case manager’s are bound by pressures imposed on them
by their employer that place you, the
client, as a secondary consideration when the reverse should
apply.
The frustration of an ACC recipient dealing on their own
behalf with an ACC or CATALYST case manager quite often leads to
anger, depression and frustration to a point that the ACC
recipients’ quality of life is seriously affected. It does not
matter how well a person understands and manages their personal
relationship with ACC, once issues become personal they always
have an adverse effect on other areas of a person’s daily
living.
